INDIAFEST-2024

We are proudly announcing our most successful community event INDIAFEST happening in 2024 in the heritage city of Edmonton, AB. 

Edmonton is a city of diverse cultures and emerging talent. We are blessed to provide a platform for every emerging artist living in Western Canada since 2014 through Vdesi Star-Sur ke Sartaj, a Western Canada Singing Competition organized by Helping Hands for Humanity Centre. This initiative opened doors for many emerging singers like Karishma Deo and Pawandeep Singh. Edmonton-based young artists were delighted to participate in Indiafest 2019, as you see in the photo gallery, by the side. We have been blessed with volunteers and performers who joined us through mind and soul. 

From yoga seminars to dance performances by local talented artists and Vdesi Star- juniors' competition set the stage on fire. We were entertained by Karishma and Pawandeep Singh's singing at Sundown. Artisans and food vendors showcased the best of South Asian touch to their products. A play area kept kids busy on their toes. A footfall of 1000 Edmontonions and Calgarians witnessed this extravagant event in 2019.

We are back with a bang, introducing a three-day long-weekend film festival to our achievements of celebrating arts in the year 2024. This year, we will be merging INDIAFEST with MAHARAJA FILM FEST by screening award-winning films and premiering brand-new films in Alberta.

That's not it, we will be organizing webinars cum seminars to showcase talents. These established filmmakers and participants across the globe will discuss how films are made around the world. This two-day-long public event will be an opportunity to indulge in networking with filmmakers and artists being invited to the festival.

The last day of the festival will be celebrated as an award night, we will open the stage for Canadian artists to perform and give awards to nominated films and documentaries. Artisans, food vendors, and other exhibitors are welcome to present what they have to sell. 

A festival that celebrates art and culture through live events and film screenings is a great combination happening for the first time in history.
